The "MONROEVILLE CPR TRAINING CENTER" provides residents, health care providers and whomever else wants to learn the valuable skills of the CPR, AED use and Airway Obstruction Management on the 2010 Standards as provided by the American Heart Association (AHA).

Sudden cardiac arrest occurs about 700 times per day in the United States!!! CPR by bystanders present when this occurs DOUBLES the chances of survival for those victims. Cardiovascular Disease is the #1 killer of people over 45 years. 80% of all cardiac emergencies ocur at home, protect your loved ones by learning this essential skill!!!

MVFD #5 provides what is called "Health Care Provider CPR" and "Heartsaver CPR" which includes Adult, Pediatric and Infant CPR, the use of the AED (Automated External Defibrillator), and how to clear an Obstructed Airway in an Adult, Child and Infant.

MVFD #5 feels that these courses best suits the needs of our area with the increasing amount of AED's in the public sector and the diverse population that Monroeville has. If you feel that these courses are too complex, other AHA courses can be tailored to fit the needs of what you or your group are looking for. Contact us to see what is available.

Class sizes are limited to 12 per course at this time and can be scheduled during the day or evening, whichever is convenient to you. Classes are mainly taught at MVFD #5, but CAN be brought out to your facility or home, please contact us to make these special arrangements as we understand shifts, travel limitations and scheduling conflicts DO arise.

Classes involve Visual Aids, Hands-on Practice and Testing that provide the student with a COURSE COMPLETION CARD that is good for 2 years. This card is sufficient (usually) for Healthcare Worker employment requirements unless deemed different by your employer/manager. Classes usually last approx. 4 hours on average. MVFD #5 facilities are handicapped accessible, all we ask is that prior notification of special needs be addressed BEFORE the class starts.
